Dr. Ralf Baron is Head of the Division of Neurological Pain Research and Therapy and Vice Chair of the Department of Neurology, Christian-Albrechts-Universitaet Kiel, in Germany.

From 1999-2004, He served as General Secretary of the German Interdisciplinary Pain Society (DIVS).

From 2005-2016 he served as a Management Committee Member of the Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group (NeuPSIG) of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP).

He has been a Councilor of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) from 2010-2016.

His main research interest is the pathophysiology and therapy of neuropathic pain states.

He has authored more than 250 publications with his outstanding and motivated research team and has lectured at numerous conferences and symposia worldwide.

Dr. Robert H. Dworkin is Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, Neurology and Psychiatry at the University of Rochester.

He is a Special Government Employee of the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.

Served as a consultant to and member of the FDA Anesthetic and Life Support Drugs Advisory Committee.

A member of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Herpes Zoster Working Group.

Dr. Dworkin’s major research interests are methodologic aspects of analgesic clinical trials, and treatment and prevention of chronic and acute neuropathic and musculoskeletal pain.

He is an Associate Editor of Pain, and a member of the Editorial Boards of Canadian Journal of Pain and Journal of Pain.

Dr. Andrew S.C. Rice is Professor of Pain Research at Imperial College.

His research emphasis is on neuropathic pain in the context of infectious diseases (HIV, Herpes Zoster, leprosy and HTLV-1), diabetes, non-freezing cold injury and peripheral nerve trauma.

He has successfully led several important clinical trials, including the proof-of-concept PII study for a “first in class” novel neuropathic pain treatment (EMA401).

He is the author of more than 200 peer reviewed scientific publications, many of which are in the major specialist journal in the field (PAIN).

Prof Rice joins the advisory board on an independent basis through Imperial Consultants.

Dr. Paul Rolan has more than 30 years of experience as a clinical pharmacologist, drug developer and pain management physician.

Paul served as Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Adelaide, and Head of the School of Medical Sciences in 2014, and Director Of Innovation in 2016.

His major clinical and academic interest is in chronic pain and headache, focusing on the development of biomarkers, evaluation of novel therapies and mechanisms of disease.

He has been Principal Investigator in over 700 clinical research studies and has been an active consultant, both to the pharmaceutical industry as well as an invited speaker to the FDA.
